Jack O'Neill; "I'll never forgive myself..." [FTtL]

Okay, so here is my entry into the "Tears" round of the FTtL.

I decided to choose Jack O'Neill from Stargate SG-1 to do a character study on.
The traumatic event he experienced (which impacts the characters POV throughout the series) is when his son kills himself with Jack's personal handgun.

What I tried to do with this video was to show the different aspects of Jack.
During the verse, I went with the POV and had everyone on the outside watching him and discussing his emotional state.
Then in the chorus I switched it to Jack relating to everyone elses pain, because he had gone through it too. At the same time he doesn't believe God is there to save them --he's lost and doesn't understand why such bad stuff happens.

Throughout, I tried to give a sense of how Jack feels guilty and blames himself for his sons death. Because of this, he's become cynical and he doesn't trust anyone enough to open up about his pain.
In the end he can never forgive himself but he has to learn to live with the past while looking on to the present. I don't know what everyones response will be to this. I felt very depressed while watching it all together for the first time.
I'd like to thank MitsuCat2 for introducing me to this song. Ever since I saw her Dean video to this, I just couldn't get it out of my head :)

Daniel/Sam: "Like I said...he doesn't tell you much."
Daniel: "Jack never forgave himself."
Jack: "I lost my son! I could never live that over again."
Child: "You cannot change what happened that day. Charlie is still there...inside you."

Hey everyone. I'm new to watching SG but I do remember, years ago, seeing an episode where Sam had married an alien whose race had taken over the earth. Jack had quit I think. Then they realize what's going on and they need to get something through the last star gate and they all die doing it. Can someone tell me what year and episode that is? Thanks. :) Songs

I've always thought that the producers didn't show this side of Jack. Maybe you could postulate to be one of the producers for the third movie... lol!
