I am happy & proud to give you a 20 minute interview w/ the living legend Hartley Peavey! I am also happy & proud to call Hartley a friend! Here is a man who's been in the business longer than most - so hear it directly from the source!

I hope you enjoy the interview as much as I did, giving the interview!

Hartley - Thank you!

Rock ON!

  • Love the subtle edit there. I wonder what he said about Fender ;)

  • @siamesemojo I just watched the raw footage. There was no content of Hartley Peavey edited there. I had a camera guy asking questions which was irrevelant to the interview, which is why I edited that out., but none of HPs talk was edited.

  • @WoodyWV38 ditch the bc rich and active pickups!!!!!

  • My son has a Peavey Envoy 110 (TransTube) its a pretty clear loud little sucker. Question: My son has a BC Rich Warbeast Trace T it has the BCR stock BSDM pick-ups in it from the factory. Lookin to put EMG 81/85 or 81/60's maybe even 2 81's but doubt the last one. Are the EMG's a pain in the butt to install PROPERLY?

  • I don't know why everyone is upset at the truth, but look at the Fender Telecaster. They keep putting out the same "ashtray" bridge that cannot be used to intonate the guitar and then call it retro. Look at the Peavey T series guitars, late 70s and early 80s models, great instruments, first to use CNC machines, and several ways to sweeten the action. Never brought this back. And he should! But you got to respect someone looking to the future. And the Vypyr amps kick the Line6 amps ass up & down.

  • You know what? I was getting ready to jump in and defend Hartley, but after reading your comment I rewatched it and I have to say, you are 100% correct. Someone should point out that his company has had some epic flops and has produced some real crap occasionally. Why do companies (Fender & Gibson is who he was taking shots at) keep re-issuing the same stuff over and over? Cause they got it right, and people want a tried and trued instrument. I love my Les Paul & Strat!

  • I'm NOT a big fan of his amps, but I have always found Mr. Peavey a total gentleman whenever some1 interviews him.

    A legend for sure!

  • Awesome interview TK! Peavey makes great guitars and amps

  • I'm sorry... but Hartley was an ass in the interview in my opinion! How dare he take these big shots at his competitor brands. I find no class in that. However I think that the Tone King gave an excellent interview (as always) and he had some great patience. God bless TTK

  • Peavey has had some interesting stuff over the years, but they do seem to have this stigma of being a "low-end" manufacturer. Their major success though was the 5150 heads, and even the Valveking amps were pretty cool too. So when he says they haven't been doing a good job educating people I tend to agree.

  • Great interview. It almost seemed like TTK was Mr. Peavey's grandson and he was educating him.

  • He seems so angry but he is right about what he is talking about.
