This is the new HEXBUG SPIDER fully functional walker, it sells for about $15.99 and can walk in all direction. it only uses 2 motors, one for the walk cycle and one to turn the body, when the body turns it changes the leg gear system which causes the robot to walk in a different direction. it is extremely well designed and well built,
it runs on three 1.5 volt button cell batteries which i replaced with one 3.7 volt 130 Mil amp rechargeable lithium battery. similar to the ones used in the e flight blade mcx and msr

it works great with the new lipo battery the run time is well over half an hour now and i can easily re charge the battery quickly.
I strongly recommend this little robot, it's great fun and a great platform for modifications.
available at radio shack and other toy retailers for $15.99

i dont mean to break the ice but the design in the URL came out AFTER this one just look at the upload date by the way the design has been out for years plus im not gon lie but its more likely that he copied off of this one but not in a bad way, in a good way whatch the vid and you'll see what i mean come on this dude has blasters on his and not jus one punk ass one i mean different variations that you can snap on and it is way cool!

  • @FacebookUser37207 when i first bought this i thought I was supporting JMEmantzels until I later learned from comments that it had no connection to his.

I really do want to review his, it looks a lot stronger and the battle systems look great.

  • mine isnt walking it takes one step stops and makes a weird noise any advise

  • @batman205ify sounds like a gear is slipping, you may have to open it up and see which one it is.

  • It would be even cooler If it could climb up Walls

  • @RFilmsForLife It would be cool but Gene Simmons might send them after us and only Tom Selleck could save us.

    Sorry obscure 80s reference.

  • This is indeed based on Jaimie Mantzel's design ,

as he mentioned in one of his newer videos this was basically a cheap knockoff ,

the legs definitely doesn't move as smooth.

He's currently working for another toy company and is thus not very happy that they used his design in such a crappy way. So he's working on a new design.

  • if you follow JMEmantzel's videos you will see that he is putting together a kit so you can build your own mechanical spider! so check out his website at Jamius.com if your interested! :D also he's doing a raffle for one that he has already assembled! donate to the giant robot fund to enter! Jaimie is the man and deserves a shout out for the world having this tid bit o cool! (even if it is a cheep knock off...)

  • @taoistflyer If this bug where 2 have 2 modes, a Sensor mode like the new larva bug and remote control. Then i and a lot of others would buy this!

  • That young man you said you saw the same design on got ripped off by this toy company. They stole his schematics...

  • I hooked up my brothers hex bug with a 7.5volt battery and it still works amazingly, had to put shoes on it so it gets traction so funny.

  • You cant beat the Nano. We put LIGHTS on ours. Plse check out our videos

  • your hexbug spider is rarely fast

  • I hate one thing, that i am from Bulgaria and this HEXBUG isn't found in our shops and it's just too expensive to buy it from the internet and also i dont have a credit card. This is pissing me off :(
