  • I used to live in Taiwan in 1957-1958. I was age 14-15 and went to providence English College Catholic girls school. My father was building the airfield north of Taichung. Lots of bicycles and pedicabs back then. What a huge change in that city since 1958. Today I would get lost in it! It is not the city I remember!! Thank you for showing that...

  • @22460171 i'm sure that he's vietnamese :P .

  • Where are you from?

    i am TAICHUNG person

    taiwann Language ; 我是台中人!!

  • Yeah that's sort of my own plan in a way too, only I'll end up doing a lot of the study here in the States now since, well I'm back and have a good support network now. I'll likely do as yourself and get an International Studies/Relations degree, and then head there or German first depending on how my fencing goes, and from there pretty much just teach/coach fencing. As well with the degree, I could teach English as a second job or primary if need be.

  • so far my plan is just to study the language. I think I will get a better idea of what I want to do after I learn the language.. Maybe I will come back to USA to study international relations, or maybe stay in taiwan or the mainland for business. And if those to plans fail, I think I can go into teaching.

  • Awesome man, good for you! I'll be back one day...it's gonna take some years, but I got plans now. I hope one day to teach European fencing there somewhere; they already have several clubs there so I know I have a shot. My uniform's already all done-up with the colors though, lol!

Are you going to stay there for a while you think? If I realized then what could have been, I would have stayed...but you know how life is!

  • I just recently applied to a school in taichung. I hope to be there this spring!!!

  • I was there for about three months...I'd have to say looking back, likely my best three months as well.
