LMMS has seen big improvements since the 0.3 series. I was surprised to load it up and see more instruments and tools, a prettier interface, and a much more stable music creation system.

Of note are the Vestige VST plugin, which allows Windows VSTs to be used (I tested the Superwave P8 and it worked very well); the C64 SID emulator, Gameboy emulator, and SF2 (SoundFont) import.

I have been using ALSA instead of Jack and can report very low CPU usage and good sound quality.

It's not a VST, but if you download LMMS, this song comes with it and you can check out the instrument that way.

ohh man, thank you ALOT... I`ve been using FL Studio with windows... didn`t knew how to install some VSTi`s on LMMS, I`m using ubuntu Studio now...

Glad it helped! LMMS seems to be improving daily...I've been compiling from source to keep up and it's become a lot more stable even since the version I recorded here. :-)

omg lmms uses 100% of my cpu and i got a 2.20 ghz cpu >:( is any one else having the same problem?

Man, I don't know how to compile from source. SO my version pretty much stays the same. Although I have the VeSTige you speak about, I was wondering if any newer versions came out. Funny thing, I accidentally deleted my ./lmms home file. So I have to get the newest version ANYWAY. Thanks for the vid, hope more people will be able to make these type of vids. LMMS is largely underestimated
