Brought to you by Will Dietz of WebOS-Internals, Quake 1 is the second SDL game available for the Palm Pre. You can get it right now in Preware.

It is a lot of fun to play. Enjoy the video.

  • I was worried about whether or not I made the right choice in buying the Pre. There are only about 1000 standard apps for it and I read about some build quality issues. The phone has so far been an awesome experience! Especially since the update to 1.3.5. It is super fast and very powerful. Same processor as iPhone, but able to run multiple apps at once. I was able to run Quake and Doom at the same time! All worries were gone by the end of the week. Great job Palm!

  • That is awesome!

  • Those look like terrible controls. Considering they have a full keyboard, they could have done so much better.

  • wow quake!!!!

  • I LOVE the idea of playing games on the Pre, the problem is the controlls. If they just figured out how to use the acceleromator..... Then we could get some serious gaming time in!

  • If you have preware, just launch preware icon from the phone, click list everything and begin to type in quake. It will give you a list of programs called quake, there should only be 1 click quake and it will begin to install.

  • its in preware under games its not in the app store

  • @jdmsohccoupe

how do u search in preware app on the phone ? there is neither a search filed now can u just type in something

  • Thanx all - will do.

  • @criticalzen Read about how to install homebrew apps on the PreCentral website. You'll need to download the Preware app and there are several methods to do so.

  • once you have preware installed on your pre you can go into preware and search for quake and it pops up, same thing for doom. If you don't have preware look it up im sure someone on here has a video on how to install it.

  • This is great but it does not show up in games under app catalog. Do I need my usb cable and the preware website to do this? I can't figure it out but I love this game.
