Demo 2010. 50,000 students marched through London on Wednesday in protest against plans to triple university tuition fees, and violence erupted as a minority battled police and trashed a building containing the headquarters of the governing Conservative Party. Organisers said 50-thousand students, lecturers and supporters demonstrated against plans to raise the cost of studying at a university to 9-thousand pounds a year - three times the current rate - in the largest street protest yet against the government's sweeping austerity measures.

When I graduate from university, I'm seriously considering leaving the country and never paying a penny of my loan back, like thousands of other graduates have done... just to piss off people like you :P

@NorthAmericaResist It's not even that complicated, this is a case of a government of millionaires selling off the UK's national assets and privatising public services for profit and ignoring the 99% of people who aren't them. Class is largely irrelevant here, the case is that the bottom of the well is going to drop out soon, and when it does, this vile government will regret it's almost-dictatorial actions.

@MenOfWarMan Ask the government... if they hadn't trebled tuition fees to £9000 per year while giving students less money to survive on, perhaps this wouldn't have happened. Maybe if the police didn't act as the paramilitary arm of the government, then this riot might not have happened. Quite possibly, if this disgusting coalition wasn't destroying the NHS and victimising the most vulnerable members of society and actually listened and showed accountability, people wouldn't riot like this?

I was supporting Germany because the english football team is full of scum.
