For the week ending September 1, 2011 we discuss the latest news and reviews as posted to the site.
In news Josh and Adam discuss 1/60 Scale VF-1 A/J/S Unassembled Kit with Optional Parts, SFX Revoltech No.033 - Legion, Revoltech G2 Gamera and the Super Robot Chogokin Dai Guard.
For reviews we talk about Knight Gear Oger, 1/60 VF-1A (Max DYRL Type), VF-2SS Valkyrie II Super Armed Pack and Ultra Act Ultraman.
In Blind Boxed we talk about 2011 East Coast Summit Shirts for sale and the relaunch of Otaku.CollectionDX.com.
that Ultraman opener is from the Japanese song. What aired in the USA in the run during the late 70s was translated to an English version that is loved by all Ultra fans. The Ultra figure was reissued by Tamashii in May of this year. It originally released in June of 2010. Though in the re-issue some people have said the joints seem tighter to some degree. Maybe some minute changes happened.
iphones make hurricanes fun. i live on the coast in nc. utilities where down for days but i was ordering stuff the whole time. i work for a utility company so the unboxings where the only thing that got me through this week. The veritech kit looks cool. I'm thinking 1/48 might work as an mp now that ops is getting scaled down. not for a scale stickler but looking okay.
Martian Successor is a very fun, memorable show. I didn't get the Gekigangar 3 reference contained within the Nekobot, but major kudos for doing something so obscure. My cousin maintains that Gekigangar 3 was an actual show referenced within Nadesico, but I always thought it was just a parody or reference to the genre. Great show, and thanks.
VF-2SS w/ SAP FTW! Yamato: get the contract for a 1/60 toy PLEASE??? That would be one of my four Macross Holy Grails- the other two being a ver.2 1/60 VF-1S Strike Hikaru and VF-11C w/ SAP, and 1/3000 DYRL Macross
I need a fat-guy-sized CDX/Incubot/ToyboxDX shirt... good to know it's an option!
