All keyboards on Lane Changer were played by the late Casey Foutz. He was the keyboardist in Crabby Appleton and traveled to London with Fennelly to record Lane Changer. Rod Argent and Russ Ballard sang background on Touch My Soul, but did not play on the album. Jeff Beck played the lead solo on Watch Yerself. MF

For some reason that I can't figure, this guy never had the success that he deserved or that was fitting to his great talent. This is a really fine song, as one would would expect from Fennelly. Another logical reason as to why this track is so good is the excellence of the singing and the guitars, too.

Yes, this is a real soulful claasic, to be sure.

Man, I couldn't agree more with the comments people are making about Fennelly and Crabby Appleton. How did this genius, and this unbelievable piece of art go so unnoticed? This song is an absolute masterpiece.

I am proud to say that back in 1974 I played 5 tracks from this album on my radio station at the time, WSAY. Touch My Soul should have had 1000 times the success it did and should be a classic. Michael, I am doing a feature on this great album in my Nasty Newz blog this week. I am Lane Changer so move over!!!!!

1974 and I used to call the local radio station to play this tune. When it came on...if we were driving...we pulled over...it was "our song' according to my girlfriend. I would love to find this on CD, I have the album. Other comments here are right on the money, I'll bet if this tune was re-released, it would be a hit.

@Isabelpepper Thanks, Dave.  My two albums with the group Crabby Appleton are available on Amazon, itunes, etc... The album 'Begin' by The Millennium is also available, as are some albums of Millennium demos, such as The Millennium Again, and The Second Millennium. My two solo lp's, Lane Changer and Stranger's Bed, have yet to be released on CD. One can find vinyl copies, here and there. I'm working with Sudazed Records on a cd of my unreleased material. I'll post updates here, if and when.
