  • Porque seguismo con la mania de Comparar a cualquier soprano con "La Callas", Nadie dice que no fue Excelente... Pero ahora es el momento de otras... No comparemos... A veces las comprarciones son MALAS !

  • Agreed. Callas and Anderson should not be compared. They are both phenomenal singers, but each differs in her own regard.

  • I too saw Anderson in L.A. at the Dorothy Chandler pavillion, singing this very scene. But I thought it was in 1981. What if it was this one? Wow! Anyone know whether or not she sang Lucia in L.A. in '81 too? Superhartline

  • June's Lucia is excellent. Today's sopranos are smart not to do a campy, over-the-top Mad scene & instead focus on technique and coloratura, but Lucia's Mad Scene does call for some acting & expression. The best way to do the Mad Scene is the way June does it. She does it like a Sleep Walking Scene, slow, eerie, detached, ghostly. That's the way to sing Lucia. Others who have done it like this have include Edita Gruberova & Joan Sutherland.

  • Woo no conocía esta versión, maravillosa, que voz tan limpia y que control, brava.

  • I was blown away by her Lucia in LA in either 1989 or 1991ish. I remember being stunned by this woman in a nightgown running around some tombstones. I was so moved by her performance.

  • lucia di lamermoor is perhaps the MOSTCOMPELLING HEROINE of the operatic repetoire

  • I will never forget the amazing performance Ms. Anderson gave of this in Chicago. (Lyric Opera) It was flawless!

  • love the video, it gives a phantasmagoric appearance to Lucia...quite poetic. Otchen jorosho.

  • Her voice sounds rather like Sutherland's here, which I think works to her advantage.

Joanie will always be my favourite Lucia, but Anderson really suprised me by doing a pretty damn fantastic job!

I was blown away, considering how awful her Sempre Libera was.
