Jennifer Ehle wins Best Lead Actress at the 2000 Tony Awards, for Annie in Tom Stoppard's "The Real Thing". Her mother, Rosemary Harris, shared the same category. Also see Charlie Rose interview Ehle and her TRT costar Stephen Dillane at http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6225811935876776005
Shes similar to Gillian Anderson in the way that she changes her accent! Sometimes she speaks British like in this video but then in her tony award 2007 she goes American! Trans-atlantic weirdness haha
I rather thought her the most excellent Elizabeth Bennet ever. Perhaps if the library on your Anabaptist compound were larger, you'd realize that the costumes for the BBC's P&P were meticulously researched and absolutely appropriate for the era. Her acting was fantastic - certainly better than Keira Knightley's anemic/anorexic screen presence.

I wonder why. I think her the worst Elisabeth Bennett ever. She looks like a porn queen with too large breast, the neck line is always too low. She is anything else but never the Elisabeth Bennett described by Jane Austen. Her manners are bad, her eyes, her acting - everything.
Actually both she and jane Bennett are worst casting possible!
I saw The Real Thing with her on Broadway. I can't believe it's been a decade. One of the best plays I've seen. I own the script now and when I read it I am continually blown away by Tom Stoppard's writing.
Wish she had taken that role in Games of Throne! Fantastic show which would have been perfect for her

Reminds me of Meryl Streep...classy, intelligent, and amazing theater background. Wish there were more projects for her. = )

One of the rare times all five women deserve to win. What great company to be in.
