Tasting Tucson, is an experimental web series that i'm testing out to spotlight local restaurants & taco trucks that i think are good. Hope you like it.

If you are in tucson,az. go check out this place for good mexican food and GREAT raspados :)

Raspados= Mexico's answer to the common snow cone. It is amplified with fresh fruit and fruit syrup, shaved ice, ice cream and sweetened condensed milk...

  • @itellsri not exactly sure about their process, each restaurant does it a little different in tucson. I know some places use milk with the addition of cheeses and the cheeses are personal choices of the businesses. I've had friends show me their process and I've seen them made with hamhocks and onions, then they cook them down slowly for a few hours. I will see about posting a recipe soon.

  • hello Jevon,

Thx for your awesome insight and passion towards mexican food . Can you educate me on how the taquerias make refried beans from the scratch. I did buy dry pintos and made them in my home ...but couldnt replicate the flavour and taste of what I get in the mexican restarants . Can you please educate ? God bless u my friend !
