  • Can they make this tracker smaller? Or tag it to the ear or something?

  • I think the problem is mostly the bulk of the battery pack. Because they're so elusive and roam over such huge areas once a leopard is collared it must have a powerful transmitter and long life battery. The battery will last for about 3 years or so and has to be waterproof,survive sub-zero temps and all kinds of impacts. Newer digital GPS trackers are being used and require much less power than old transmitters, I think even GSM mobile phone technology is being adapted.

  • @kevsterino Screw battery life, i don't like going in the wild and every animal i see has some kind of tag. People want to see nature untouched and this 20lb dumbbell hanging from the neck is an eye sore. what a disgrace
