This is a video of a lightning storm we saw whilst on holiday in France in 2009. Was absolutely awesome to watch, so had to be captured on film.

From the frequency of the lightning flashes, I am estimating positive CAPE values (especially ML CAPE) to be up to 2500 joules per kilogram. CAPE stands for Convective Available Potential Energy. ML stands for Mean Layer or Mid-Level.
