Tutorial: Stream Gameplay With HD PVR Capture and The HD PVR

In this video, I show how to use your Hauppauge HD PVR to capture and stream your console game play to sites like ustream, stickam etc.

The application I used to create the cam to send to Ustream is Camtwist. http://allocinit.com/index.php?title=CamTwist
The app that works with HD PVR Capture to show the live video preview is VLC. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

As I said in the video, I don't use PC's (outside of work) so don't ask me what programs there are like Camtwist. You will have to do that legwork yourself. My mission for this video was to show you that it's possible, and to inspire my peeps.

Is there any way to cut out the VLC video toolbar (pause/play ff/rewind buttons) from the stream? and will it broadcast in HD? Thanks!

@MaverickN21 You can do a custom size window. Streaming services are not capable of HD streams, and you would need a shit load of bandwidth to do it.

I followed everything, got my gameplay coming up on my camtwist preview. But when I select camtwist on u stream it just shows my webcam. Any ideas why?

@stampylongnose You must have just installed CamTwist. You need to reboot your Mac for it to show up as a source.

Are you still able to stream successfully this way? I'm trying it now and everything works except the fact that ustream only recognizes my isight camera as a video source. CamTwist doesn't show up at all. I've re-started, re-installed and everything. Any help?

Hey Dude Mines LAG'S SO MUCH and I need the lag to fix right now, How do i stop the lagging, AND GOTO MY CHANNEL AND WATCH THE VIDEO HD PVR TEST TO SEE THE HDPVRCapture Lagging so you know what im talking about, after you watch it or not Just PLEASE PLEASE help me how do I stop the lag.
