Preparations For A Journey is a short documentary that accompanied the short film "Steel Cathedrals" on the Japanese only laser disc. The documentary follows David's brief work with Polaroid montages, which lead to his book "Perspectives" and an exhibition at Hamiltons gallery in London.Preparations For A Journey is a short documentary that accompanied the short film "Steel Cathedrals" on the Japanese only laser disc. • Nope. I can't swear to it. I had a Le Mystere des Voix Bulgares album published by 4AD many years ago and I'm equally sure this was on that but again I can't swear to that. Either way we both agree its Bulgarian and not Sylvian and the most famous female Bulgarian choir is the State Choir. I'd thought Preparations for a Journey contained all Sylvian music which is why I was surprised and why I mentioned it.

  • Yes it's Le Mystere, if you look at the comments on Part 1 of this, I list the running order of the music...

  • this is bulgarka before kate bush did it... sylvian never ceases to blow my mind. from 11years old til god willing... im 80.. he is the true musician who cannot stop exploring... a rare man indeed

  • I really love Sylvian: gentle voice, gentle hands, gentle photographic eye. His photo collages are very David Hockney, it seems. But Warhol also did a lot with Polaroids, distorting them, etc. Attending to David Sylvian's world is so good for one's own creativity, I think. Thanks for posting this.

  • ..although having said that Trio Bulgarka are very well known. I'll have to admit to being a bit ignorant of Bulgarian music.

  • Are you sure? I think it's Trio Bulgarka. I think I remember this track being on an album of theirs I used to have.

  • That's le Voix Bulgares .. the Bulgarian National Female Voice Choir.

  • I can enjoy this folk music.Because It is Sylvian's one of favorite music.Beauty!!!

    And his poraloids are cool!!!

  • Thanks for posting, where do you get this material from?

  • Sylvians a genius!
