  • this game looks kinda crappy to me lol just my opinion :P good review though

  • Cant expect much from something that wasnt finished or released.,

  • @gamemaster14neo This is also running on a mame emulator, and is no where near as smooth as the actual hardware.

  • @10p6 My computer at the time didnt run the game too well while capturing it, also in the many years since I made this review the emulation has improved greatly.

  • @gamemaster14neo I know all about Jaguar emulation. The Jag hardware is one of the hardest consoles to emulate because of it's custom risk design. For a 3+ year old video, it actually runs pretty decent.

  • Killer Instinct clone...

  • @RetroShinigami Yeah, the Cojag was the arcade version of the Atari Jaguar.

  • The Bezerker feature was added at the very end, and they thought it would add to the game. To me it just muddied it up. What happened is we couldn't compete with the next Street Fighter so they cancelled the project. It is rare that a game makes it that far and gets killed. I left the company shortly after the project was cancelled.

  • Also there were two types of backgrounds. There was the paralaxing background like the graveyard where as you move left and right, the perspective of the background changes. It is better on the prison level. The other is a looping movie background. We had lots of free hard drive space, so size wasn't the issue. There were also some origin to the characters, but they decided to not bother to explain them. The last boss is supposed to be an insect alien.

  • There were finishing moves, bezerker moves, and combos as well. If I go digging I think I can find what they are. I coded them all up, but I wasn't that good at fighting games. The problem with the game and why it wasn't very good is no one on the team was really a fighting game player (including myself), so we were only copying, and not actually creating something that we liked. There were three programmers, but one left early in the project.

  • I would have to agree with some of the comments of the review, but not all. The game was not finished, but the machine was on Field Test. So it cleared Field Trial, and it was in the field to see how much it earned. There was probably only a month left of work on the project. So what you see is pretty much the finished product. You are right it was a KI ripoff. We had a KI machine in our area, and refered to it constantly. I was one of the two engineers on the final project!
