VICTORIA - A Victoria gym for people with spinal cord injuries is looking for more clients. Path SCI is focused on helping the most profoundly injured make small and/or substantial gains.

Sean Marlowe suffered a brain injury in 2004 in a car crash. At the time he was an Olympic-caliber triathlete. Now Sean is non-verbal but he communicates with signals. He's been working with therapists at Path SCI and for the first time since the accident - he is moving his left leg and arm. His mother Cherith says the progress is leaving her with chills. And as exciting as the physical gains are, Cherith is just as thrilled with how happy Sean is during and after his workouts.

The Society behind Path SCI held a fashion show fundraiser and a 24-hour squash tournament last year to raise money. Sean and other clients are getting at least some of their costly treatments covered. Donations at http://www.friendsofpathspinalcordinjurygroupsociety.com are needed to help the many people living on Vancouver Island with spinal or brain injuries.
