Personally, I think an artist who shows expression on his/her face is deep into the song, allowing it to control its expression. Ivan (and others) have very expressive faces. To me it is part of the communication process, an important part. So, go Ivan!!! Bless you and keep on truckin' forever. You are a the heart of Brasil.

This is one of my favorite tunes of Lee Ritenour and Ivan Lins. Are they in YOUTUBE to invite as friends???? Thank you for posting this great video. Blessings to you.

I would need a thesaurus to get all of the words to describe this man's brilliance!
Talent, musicianship, singing ability, and the genius to use it all simultaneously, now this is why I became a musician, to be around people like this!

Who could dislike something as powerful and as emotionally driven such as this? Fools, go back to your meaningless pop music, leave our great jazz standards alone!

Not only is the composition by Ivan Lins incredible as always. The lyrics by Vitor Martins are brilliant. It's about the very underrated importance of a comedian/clown.. someone not really taken seriously in real life. The line: "Quem terá esse trabalho louvado, quem terá esse destino sagrado, p'ra fazer minha gente feliz novamente?" Is very touching and so true: "Who would have this blessed task, who would have this sacred destiny to make my people happy again?" - Very touching in Portuguese.

Ahh this is just the music, I'm in to. The guy sings with pure soul. But what language is this ?

@mabonga1001 - Yes he is a great man from what I hear - a devoted Christian and seriously one of the most enjoyable bassists to hear (and watch!). My wife actually got to play on an album that he recorded on from Brazil some years ago.

The Power Of Great Music, with incredible Musicians, just listen to the Great Abraham Laboriel on Bass, Simple Majestic, yet Humble.
