Placido Domingo è uno dei cantanti lirici più versatili di tutti tempi, è un attore bravissimo, ha una voce bellissima, corposa, estesa, robusta! Quest'aria è quasi una canzone, molto difficile da eseguire. E lui la canta divinamente! Grandissimo!

"who currently holds the record for the most tenor roles performed" - not true. Cesare Curzi sang many more. Also my buddy Ross Halper. Both of these tenors sang comprimario tenor roles as well as lead roles. Among baritones Taddei sang close to 300. Panerai also. Taddei sang a lot of Mozart and Rossini bass parts like Leporello as well as the Verdi baritone parts.

This song is written high in the voice. Placido amazingly brings his deep up up without trouble.

Certo, non aveva l'estensione di Juan Diego Florez. Ma questo è naturale dato che i due tipi di vocalità sono estremamente diversi. Come tenore leggero Domingo era una schifezza così come Florez come tenore drammatico. Come tenore drammatico Domingo era grandioso così come Florez come tenore leggero. Fin qui tutto quadra perfettamente. Detto questo, Domingo aveva una voce normalmente estesa, ma senza salti di registro, quindi una buona estensione. Anche questo quadra perfettamente.
