i love ut. but i'll never understand why certain fans boo teams no matter who they are. i went to the ut-air force game a few years back and i couldn't believe fans were booing. i mean my god. that's basically saying f u to our troops.

@PSLFAN1 I hate Kiffin. I hated that they waited!
-
one of many things i hated about kiffin is how he delayed the team coming out of the tunnel and through the T. the team is supposed to come out right as it opens up, not wait 5 minutes and jump around in the tunnel while everyone else is waiting...

@azvol I think all the Big Ten bands do. I know Michigan (and I think Michigan State) do. I've also heard Notre Dame does.
Vanderbilt tried this in the early 90s but it was terribly lame, especially if the visitors brought a bigger band. I feel better now that I know it's tradition some places.
I do not remember hearing "Dynamite" before the 1994 Tennessee-Vanderbilt game, the last time I visited Neyland.

@CynicallyNaive After the game is over, the band remains in the stands and continues to play various songs. One of them is The Tennessee Waltz.....and they do it slowly and beautifully as a waltz should be played.
-
@CynicallyNaive I have been a season ticket holder since 1984----and they've played the opposing team's fight song for every home game for each of those 26 years. I am not aware of any other college band in the nation paying such a tribute to its opponent.
-
Great band, but someone really needs to inform them that the "Tennessee Waltz" is a waltz.
-
@PSLFAN1 When did they start doing this? I'm 90% sure they didn't do so in the early 1990s.
You are so right! They boo every visiting team, which is embarrassing, but to boo a service team is pitiful.

I agree. Traditionally, the running thru the T was so choreographed, the instant the T opened, the running thru the T began with the crowd at fever pitch. Kiffin killed that with the waiting!

Every home game, they pay tribute to the visiting team/fans/bands by playing their fight song. They do it for every team that visits Neyland stadium.
