Undergraduate Adam was the victim of a hit-and-run traffic incident, and his family were initially told not to expect much improvement from his minimally conscious state. On referral to the RHN, our Occupational Therapists established that he was much more aware and able than had been previously recognised. Over many months of intensive Occupational Therapy, Adams hearing and vision have vastly improved; years on Adam is walking and talking and living in his own purpose adapted bungalow.
"After his brain injury, I said goodbye to my son and was resigned to losing him forever. Now, thanks to the Royal Hospital, he makes real progress and every day is a bonus. The RHN created a little 'miracle'...they gave me back my son." - Adam's mother.
I hope he is doing even better today?
