Entertainment reporter Tim Estiloz features the new Disney/Pixar animated film "Ratatouille". This "behind the scenes" feature profiles the making of the film... and Estiloz visited the Pixar Animation Studios in California to chat with the film's stars Patton Oswalt, Janeane Garofalo - and Lou Romano, who is both a Pixar Animation artist and voices the main character "Linguini".

This is perhaps Pixar's best film thus far. Also featured in this story is a unique sampling of reporter Estiloz' own skill as a cartoonist... and a look at the voice-over stars at work in the sound studio.

This story was written and produced by Tim Estiloz. It originally aired on the TV program "Backstage" seen on CN8 - The Comcast Network.

  • FilmFantv- Oh gosh you like animation? That's so cool! I've always dreamed of working in Pixar ever since I was a kid. :D Is there a way of being one of the animators without a degree in animation? Just...having the skills would be enough?

  • I can imagine many animators in the biz and perhaps at Pixar... didn't get official degrees in animation. I'm told they mainly look for talented people.... where you went to school doesn't matter.

... it what TALENT you can bring to the table.

  • Awh thanks! 'cause I love drawing and animation...but my parents wont pay for art college. :/

Hope you'll get into Pixar someday too! Love your drawing. XD

  • Take it from me...

Don't let the deal with your folks keep you from pursuing your dream.

    ... keep drawing

... if you have a school newspaper - draw for them

    ... practice

... and NEVER, EVER let anyone discourage you from what you love doing.

I had people do the same to me... but, I kept going.

If you LOVE to draw and animation... don't give up on it.

... you'll only regret it later in your life.

    Good luck and God bless.

  • WTF did he do that himself?

multi taletned tv host ftw lmao

  • Yes... I actually did draw that cartoon. Thank you for the compliment. I went to art school before getting into TV

... to have something "to fall back on" as a career.

    Take care !

  • Tom's right. You don't need college to experiment, practice, and develop your own talent!

One important thing you can get from college is critique/feedback but you can get that from youtube nowadays!

  • this is pure gold!

  • I'm so happy to be learning 3D Animation now. PIXAR is my dream! Voie acting is sooo awesome! Wish I could get the chance to do that!

  • You meant Patton Oswalt (voice of Remy).
