Check out my blog at http://www.wimsblog.com/ and my site http://wimdemeere.com for more info.

This is a typical sparring session in my Sanda/Sanshou class. The whole idea is to focus on a specific concept or specific techniques. We're not going full power or speed, that's not the goal. We're working on tool development and tactical aspects. I hope you enjoy the video.

  • What are some of the defining elements and techniques of San Shou? How is it different from other martial arts?

  • Type "sanshou" in google and from the results you'll get, go to the wikipedia page for all the details. I can't post the link here, youtube won't let me.

  • You seem like a good teacher, your students are lucky for such personalization and live training!

  • Thanks for the kind words WarriorBoy.

  • @BlackstarSirius i think thats depend of kung fu style what are you train... but the speed, "in and out" quick moves are very frecuent, the fluid movements... look the fights of the chineese championship "the king of sanda"

  • good clip. we do similar san shou sparring drills as well.

  • @BlackstarSirius its a combination of alot of styles of kung fu into 1, however different schools tend to have some additional or different techniques that i guess the teachers like to implement?

its like kickboxing chinese kung fu style
