Quick clips of the many modalities implemented by DIPT. Speed Training, Agility, Quickness and Explosiveness are all functional movements that the body than CAN and WILL adapt to with the PROPER training.

At every level, and only after a thorough assessment of the athlete's current physical capabilites, age and history can a true comprehensive program be developed. The assessment allows the strength and conditioning specialist to first identify what muscle imbalances and power leaks exist. These must be addressed before higher level intensities and modalities are included.

Additionally, respective to speed training, whether it is straight ahead speed, or lateral speed, much time must be given to movement efficiency. Posture should be addressed in ALL phases of movement, with respect to proper arm action, sprint mechanics, etc., in a piece by piece to-the-puzzle fasion.

Working with Olympic athletes, we spend many hours just on running EFFICIENCY, which is defined as
-the elimination of WASTED movements and energy.

Running efficiency will allow ANYONE to get faster.

Nowadays, many FALSEHOODS are being developed merely to promote particular programs or equipment, while denying key aspects, and vital components of proper training. It's called CAPITALISM over CREDIBILITY.

Only when running efficiency is combined with the 7 Components of Speed Development, will an athlete reach their true potential. Each must be included at different and intermingled phases of training for maximum performance. This is an age old truth, known and proven by top coaches. In spite of many new inventions and scientific advances; to deny the FOUNDATIONS of speed development just to sell A particular product or GET FAST QUICK program is ABSURD.

7 MUST HAVE COMPONENTS OF A TRUE SPEED DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM:

1. Speed Mechanics
2. Appropriate Energy System Development
3. Resistance Training
4. Plyometrics
5. Relative Range of Motion
6. Overspeed Training
7. Power Nutrition

  • @tmcdougald top swimmers can spend up to 36 hours in the pool training (i.e. Ian Thorpe currently) show em any other sport which requires such a great training load.

  • @theoneandonlypaddy wow you didn't really just say that lol

  • damn!!!

but whats the deal with the running rotation on the treadmill? im assuming its for football training?

  • majority of that crap is just gimmicks, dont waste ur money kids

  • 7 people aren't fast enough.

  • I think you'll find that none of the featured performers are real 'athletes', in my honest opinion the fittest people on earth are those in the pool.

  • very nice

  • very nice

  • sure beats pushing the plow back in football days, can't even imagine working like that now. I like the ending mission statement, "a history of domination."

  • were those deadlift plates being attracted to magnets at 1:18? It seemed as if she was having trouble lowering the weight and I guess it looks like magnets are puling her down really fast
