  • Great vid! Too bad Willie & Mike couldn't talk Jobbo into bringing the '07 lineup Stateside for some dates! I was definitely up for a Nashville road trip so we could pay our long-overdue respects to Stuart's memory in his adopted USA hometown! It would have been even cooler if that gig was at the historic Ryman Auditorium! Holy To The High, Clem In Cin City USA

  • Thanks mate

  • 2.22 BOOOOOOOO!

  • I have this on vinyl. One of the best bands to come out during the early punk era. Too bad they didnt get the recognition they deserved for their brilliant work on this album.

  • another example of why this band were great

  • skids /one of the best live bands ever stuart adamson /richard jobson great together should never have split up

  • Sorry to correct you mate but the mighty SKIDS did play Melancholy Soldiers live. The song is on BBC Radio 1 SKIDS Live in Concert, SKIDS Masquerade Masqerade and the bootlegs SKIDS Rockpalais Stockholm Sweden 22.11.1980, Live at the Marquee 1.11.1978, SKIDS Days in Europa Tour Newcastle City Hall Oct. 1979, SKIDS The Venue Victoria 10.2.1981. The rent a guy guitarist you were on about was a guy called Chris Jenkins who was drafted in by the producer David Bachelor.

  • The Skids never played this live because the guitar playing on this song on the album is NOT Stuart, it was done by a rent-a-guy guitar player whose name I forget.

Anyway, Stuart refused to play it live.

  • Magnificent!

  • great song and vid

  • Apparantly, it was due to be released as a single after Into the valley, but was decided that would be one to many singles off the album, so they went with Masquerade instead.

Shame, cos this is my favourite Skids number.
