@hipwr223 Sling also doesn't do anything in an unsupported position.

i'm having a hard time to finding my comfortable in off hand too. I seem to get the shacks alot. Do you have any tips that could help me? I shoot .177 cal (air rifle) I'm trying to make the state team in 4-h.

at last! I shoot like this, though I don't shoot matches, I support the rifle about under the ejection port (bolt gun) with my elbow on my hip, makes you look pretty camp, but is waaay better than holding the forearm at arms length, there's no steadiness there otherwise...

Wow, you're statue steady. Good job. :-)

thanks heaps :)

I suppose,but I won a trophy from my local gun club sitting.
Pretty Nice though,I hate having to reload while prone,you have to re-aqcuire your target.
Is it supost to be uncomfortable? Because you look locked in and steady/comfortable but I cant seem to get it rite

@kangaroomohawk If you set your position up properly it should be comfortable. The goal is to reduce muscle involvment and rely on frame/bone support.

God damn thats some steady shooting, and I noticed, your not even using the sling... have you tried it?

@kangaroomohawk
It is against the rules to shoot with a sling in the offhand position in NRA High Power rifle or CMP Service rifle matches. The sling is used however in the sitting and prone positions.

I like the offhand position but prone still rules in terms of accuracy and ability to adjust for windage,elevation etc
Nice video will add and sub!

Prone is a great position but the most challenging part of the National Match Course of fire is the offhand stage. It has been said that matches are won in offhand and lost at 600 yard prone.
