http://uni3d.com/ - Out of gas. The spare's dry. Then... the worm. One rough day for this guy!
For a better idea of how this was put together, check out the breakdown here.

This was a random little VFX film. I jotted the storyboards one day, intending to shoot an amusing and simple short as a bit of practice and just for the fun of it. I quickly overshot the simple, with the final edit having only 4 shots that lack digital elements ...
All 3d elements were made, animated, simulated and rendered with Maya, most tracking done with Matchmover, some done with Maya Live. The rendering was through Mental Ray, composited in Nuke and cut together with After Effects.
The worm model is a mix of an original concept that began more tubular with longer face tendril/fingers and a drawing "Wormy" by DeviantArt user Rhineville.

The sounds are a mix of original recordings and samples from The Free Sound Project.

The tiny clip of music in the start is a cover of Faith No More's "Epic" from the "LP of Devastation" by The Adventures of Duane & Brando, grab it and have your world get hilariously rocked!
