NOTE: Any comment made that disrespects the Medal of Honor or John Finn will be immediately removed.

UPDATE: CBS, NBC and PBS affiliates around the country are playing A hero's Welcome on Memorial day as a tribute to John.

For those of you interested in the Medal of Honor I have had the privilege of creating a documentary film titled "A Hero's Welcome" that focuses on Lt. John Finn, the first Medal of Honor recipient from WWII.

To purchase your very own copy of my film go tohttp://www.heroswelcomemovie.com/.

This story came about because of this little Texas town called Gainesville that's on the Texas and Oklahoma border. Gainesville invites all living Medal of Honor recipients to their town once a year and it's the only town in America to host this type of event.

When I heard about what the town did I knew I had to document it.

It was an amazing experience to meet 10 of the living 98 Medal of Honor recipients and get them on film, especially John Finn.

Gainesville's Medal of Honor event is coming up on April 4^th^ where my film will premiere. 10 to 15 of the living 98 recipients will be in attendance. The premiere will also serve as a fund raiser for the Medal of Honor host city Program, you can get tickets on the website.

If you've ever wanted to meet a real Medal of Honor recipient, this is your chance.

  • I met him once at the ground breaking of the USS Oklahoma Memorial at Pearl Harbor

Dec. 7, 2006. He was there with the OKIE survivors.

    I got his autograph.

  • A true American Hero. Men like John Finn are few and far between. God bless veterans.

  • IYAOYAS

  • It brings a tear to my eye the one man can do something so courageous for his country

  • I got shivers just seeing the medal, let alone the hero........

  • A True Hero!

  • A great man, met him twice while stationed in Lemoore, very humble. He was a very good guy. Deserved the honor, and much more, only AO ever received reward.

  • Understand that he died a day before Gary Cleman, obviously we know who to pay respect to. Also understand that the last Doughboy died a day before Charlie Sheens kids were taken away so who sells more newspapers.

  • @blackelk7373 how about you go to china where paying tribute to men giving their lives to protect YOUR freedom doesnt mean shit...you'd fit right in

  • @blackelk7373 Having been in the USMC for 15 years and fought for 3 years in the war In Vietnam, I would be ashame to say those men who fought and died in Iraq did not fight and die in a real war, much like the fools that told us that we did not fight a war but a Police Action. No war can be compared to another war, might you be suggesting that the Korean conflict was not a war or perhaps the War in Europe didn't count because you did not mention those.

Respect for those that protect please.
