These are some early split screen shots. All backgrounds are rear screens. I did these in the early eighties. The purple creature, and the amazing Werewolf were both made by Jim Randall.

  • Boy, this all brings back memories of my ill-spent table-top youth. We all had to figure out a way to get in that "Willis O'Brien tyrannosaur scratch" (or was it an allosaurus?) that all the stop motion fans loved so much.

Now all the monster fans sit at computers. Nobody remembers the smell of latex or how freaking hard it was to keep those rubber-encased fingers from springing back when you bent them.

  • This stuff is superb! Even the quality of the super 8 looks beautiful. These are some great stop motion creatures!

  • Aahh.. Truly a bygone era. To think of all the effort that went into creating shots like these.

  • the dragon is really neat

  • The 'Harpy' in the woods looked very effective. Most enjoyable.

  • Great job! I recognized the creature at 1:00 from the bronto-kong footage.

    Awesome.

  • Great work! I could watch this stuff all day.

  • Heh heh...I guess we all were shooting for Super-8-Dynamation!
