In my opinion, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson is neither trying to be the next Rent (which opened in 1996) or capitalize on Spring Awakening (2007). It is simply what the gentlemen in this interview state, they have created an interesting political satire a la The Daily Show. Art imitates life; this is what people want to see. I hope it does well.

I absolutely love when I go to enjoy a youtube video and find it full of comments going back in forth in a circular argument that never ends. You should all do more of that. If there was a sarcasm font, I would be using it right now.

@Lukege15 but don't you get that the musical is also supposed to parody the president and show his hatred of minority groups. Even if it is tasteless don't we have a right to say that is new and clever and original with out just distancing ourself from ideas that have some truth in them. Book of Mormon is also a parody shouldn't we think that is clever I don't . But I think this is clever.

@amaya5yumi They only made one Idian guy gay but the rest were macho and duped into giving up their land with broken promises. Basically they made Andrew a narcistic, emo, d-bag who wanted to be popular and "give the people want they want". In the end everyone turned on him including the narrator who he shot because she was getting on his nerves. You wanted to hate him and the white people and laugh at their stupidity all at the same time. Don't hate what you don't know. That is ignorance.

@amaya5yumi ..before they hauled him off stage. I cried in that seen and felt remorse for his portrayle. They made Andrew a whiney baby who would cry and stop his feet when he didn't get what he wanted. His father was a rasist hick who was shot in the first few minuets of the play. The President and his board that won the election against Andrew were gay, arragont prickes. The spanish guys were just guys in mustaches in a bar fight scene.

@Lukege15 Did you also know that they showed the aftermath of an invasion of Native American terratory and a dead mother holding her baby, Adrew feld remorse and adopted the baby. He had friends that were chiefs and asked them to sign over. He looked like a baby doing so for one of them. One became his close friend and adviser who was also close to the son.They gave that character dignity, never made him look like an idiot. He led a rivolt and was captured. He let him say goodbye to Adrews son..

@amaya5yumi It's become blatantly obvious, though, that the people that have responded to me are entirely ignorant. You refuse to address a single point I make and instead you just go on about how well the actors were at being racist, or how 'clever' the bigoted writers were. You're despicable people, and I implore you to learn about the true North Americans for your own good. This is just another case of the invaders trying to justify their abhorrent behavior and views.

@amaya5yumi I have seen video clips, unfortunately I didn't get a chance to see it before it was promptly cancelled. The other races - did they get falsely portrayed? Did their heroes get turned into laughing stocks? No.

Interestingly, Jackson also owned tonnes of slaves. The fact that they didn't include racist portrayals of the black slaves says much - they wouldn't have got away with it - but they can with Native Americans. This is just one of many of the examples of modern Native racism.

@Lukege15 Have you actually seen this show? Did you see that they were making fun of the white men, the spanerds, the presidents, Anderews wife and he himself? This show is a satire and a satire alone. They are not glorifying him. They are just actors (who I believe did a great job) who worked their asses off to make you feel something. It reads to me that they did a brilliant job of doing so.
