Trianon Palace Hotel Tour - Versailles France

A short video tour of the grounds and lobby. The hotel is located just outside the entrance to the Versailles Gardens and is a great place to stay if you are in Versailles. It is part of the Waldorf Astoria collection.

@AmericanEvita Also, as someone who has stayed at the hotel, I can honestly say that it is very tastefully done and they are very careful to make sure that they do not take away from Versailles and the history there. They are really doing more good than harm, and I think that if you went to the hotel in person, you would hopefully see that.

@AmericanEvita Usually Im someone who also agrees that we need to keep historical site preserved and not made into a "tourist" spot. But I think you should know that this hotel dates back to 1901 and was used as more than just a hotel since then. It was used as a auxiliary hospital during WWI, the conditions of the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 was dedicated to their reception salon and during WW2 it was also used as a military station.

This building is a part of history in France.

Why?? I think it's horrible to build a luxury hotel like the Waldorf Astoria in Versailles. This is a historic site and should not have any hotels that close to it, if any it ought to be a few miles away from the grounds, but this is just outside the entrance to Versailles Gardens...too close. It's offensive because after all these years, we now make palace hotels instead of palaces. Have we learned nothing about being extravagant ?
