  • This part of the movie is so moving... Imagine to be there, to hear the voice of God speaking thru Beethoven. To think that he wrote this at the time when he was deaf. Beethoven is a Star in the heavens for all time.

  • The best bit of film i have ever seen. The eternal dream of an artisit. to finally soar high above this earth and become one with the stars, being able to gracefully touch the face of God. We can not help but forgive this man and understand the reasons he became such a horrible person. We can look into his soul and see the child he once was....

  • What the fuck is with all of this god this god that!? Ludwig van Beethoven created this beauty no one else!!

  • This is the voice of Ludwig Von Beethoven, nothing more, nothing less.

  • they did not have gas or oil lighting in the 19th century???

  • Is the Russian guy just reciting the lines?

Does he do ALL the voices? Does he change his voice at least for other characters?

  • i love Gary oldman, one of the best actors ever, even in Sid and Nancy he played Sid Vicious superbly.

  • If you don't need a tissue watching this, check yourself for a pulse.

  • Deaf or otherwise, the impossible part to grasp, for me, is that every single note, of every single bar, sung, played, heard was written by one man. That he was limited, in any way, in his hearing, puts it farther out of comprehension.

Movie, while taking some liberties, is one of the most breathtaking ever created.

  • One of my all time favorite movies so well done and moving.....whether or not it is accurate, it certainly is one of the best and captures that intrinsic quality of sketching the life of one of the greatest performers and displaying the inspiration of man overcoming whatever obstacles one may face....whatever the time and place.

  • I heard a story about Beethoven that he was leadpoisoned (because of the alcohol in those days) ...that's why he became such a horrible man. Btw, Gary Oldman is the greatest actor ever! No one could have played this role better!

  • 6:19 The best and most significant part of the whole movie!! I love that scene!!
