I have listened to many, many performances of Schubert's Ave Maria, some of them quite wonderful, almost all of them cold. Renee Fleming at Prague offered a personal prayer that I believe is the tenderest, the most beautiful, almost certainly the greatest rendition I have ever heard. I cannot listen to this Ave Maria without tears springing to my eyes. My warmest appreciation and thanks to MrFrais for making it available.
