1 Arm Barbell Deadlift
Are you looking for a total body exercise that hits your torso (core) like a hammer, builds strength all over and gives you a vise like grip? This is it.
The 1 arm dumbbell deadlift was a favorite of olde tyme strongmen for a reason it works.
Load a barbell up and stand next to it in the center of the bar. Gripping the center of the bar as tightly as you can with your body in a perfect deadlift position (chest up, back arched, arms locked). Stand up as if you were lifting a suitcase. (Imagine that you have one in each hand this helps keep your body level). Hold it at the top, lower it quickly and repeat.
Youll feel this the next day all over, but your obliques and lower back will most likely feel it most.
This is an outstanding exercise to do in place of side bends, or twists, for a change.
