The son is called The Heart Asks Pleasure First, and Nightwish is not allowed to publish it unfortunately. Don´t ask me why...I would love to have it on an album once ^^

I can`t understand how the voice alone can make music, or a band pop. I do have ears, and I realize how different Anette is to Tarja, but Tarja`s voice doesn`t have anything that would immediately categorize her voice as "metal", she sings opera. So in any case, neither sings "metal". It´s a matter of taste. If you go to a Britney concert, or...whoever of those...you won`t hear these compositions, or this loud music. So I fail to see your point

@chiriko87 The "why" is easily explained. Composer Michael Nyman doesn't like electric guitars and such, he'd probably only accept an acoustic cover of the song.

@emil9412 (...)in the underground, where you still find tons of bands with opera-like vocals.anyway, we're talking about metal so who cares.i don't know how to explain but if DPP was nw's debut album i wouldnt have been that impressed, since many sympho metal bands, in 2011, seem to have forgotten what metal is and just use choirs and orchestras over and over. and that's still ok, but since vocals are important in this genre i think they'd be supposed to be at least as powerful, period.

@emil9412 wait.first, the fact that one sings ooohs and aaahs and/or that one has taken some classical singing lessons doesn't mean he/she is a classical singer, something that tarja, or melissa ferlaak (just to make examples) actually are.me myself have some female friends who can sing that way; think of sarah jezebel deva, who never had any training at all.second, if you notice most bands that once had an opera-like voice, don't have anymore.but,i agree that those vocals keep on being used(..)

@hissingatrocity i don't get how people still can say that with Anette they are like all other symphonic metal bands... I mean doesn't most symph. metal bands have a classically trained singer?? Also Tarja isn't that godly as many people make her out to be, she is a very average classical singer. I do prefer Tarja over Anette but i still love them and i just feel that i have to be a little realistic...

@gusghost the point is, and please don't attack me, i'm just discussing calmly, that tarja's powerful and majestic vocals fit better to nightwish's bombastic style while anette's, although can obviously sing, is more an average good singer with a typical female voice like millions of other women. i own DPP and i've seen them in 2009: if that was their debut i surely wouldn't follow them since now they're quite similar to most sympho metal bands. (besides,that gig was quite awful)
