FCPX Basic Training Series Part 14. In this HD Voice Tutorial for Apple Final Cut Pro 10, we get an over view of all the tools in FCPX. Those being the select, position, trim, blade, range selection, zoom, hand tools. We learn how to use the trim tool to perform duel rolling edit on clips changing the in and out ( I/IO ) simultaneously. Remember to learn as many of the keyboard shortcuts as possible in order to become more proficient with your editing!

  • Your tutorials are so helpful. I especially appreciate that you do basic ones as well as advanced. Thanks.

  • detailed. =) can't imagine starting fcp without ur tutorials. thumbs up!

  • You mention in passing that the "Position" tool drags down clips from one's events into the project storyline. But I wonder if this feature isn't hugely important to avoid the problems I'm running into, namely that, without the position tool, I drag down several clips from my events, and then when I try to enhance them (with transitions, or crops), it becomes a mess because FCP X thinks they are connected, when in my mind they are not, for example transitions go to the wrong clip.

  • omg ty for this 14 part series. I just got fcpx and using it to edit my yt series and this has saved me. This basic stuff was so easy to understand and now i have a great start with it. Tyvm for this

  • Great tutorials. A couple of things: trim tool - dragging the end of the clip is a ripple edit. You also performed a slip edit, not a roll edit, and you missed the slide and roll edits. Also there's an option in preferences to slow the in and out as you drag. And we English also call it the Option key.

  • The best FCP X tutorials!!! :D

  • Hi Dan could you do a tutorial with slowmo & 60fps with Optical Flow?

  • hey man can you do a tutorial on how to make an image track a movement in the video like hands?
