Great to revisit this - in some ways one of his absolute greatest. As I said before, what a shame to recycle the '67 THERE WAS A TIME insteaad of use this on the album IT'S A MOTHER! Thanks again.

Both cuts as muthas, anyway. This should have surfaced on the MOTHER POPCORN album back in 1969, where THERE WAS A TIME was pressed, with echo!

Exactly what's missing in today's "music" BASS , rhythm, horns , funky arrangements ... there;s nothing that matches the complexity and originality of James Brown Music in main stream , it's all been dumbed down to serve the "elites" agenda . That's another story ... listen to Prof. Griff from Public Enemy

Better than the slower alternate version on 'Motherload', but still not a favorite of mine. Why use the 'There Was A Time' lyrics on an inferior music track?

Now how many times are we going to go over this? LOL. The slower version is on "Jungle Groove", not "Motherlode"!
Anyway, I uploaded that version also, but apparently it is blocked in the United States. Strange, because these tracks are ALL owned by the same company!
