Goro goro né

This nice arrangement of a traditional song from Ambon is sung and played by Rudi Wairata (1929-1981) and his Amboina Serenaders. It was recorded in 1955 and included on a EP. The song tells us about the "Menari Lenso", a dance with handkerchiefs. This is a traditional dance from Maluku.

Dit vrolijke nummer, in een bijzonder arrangement, is oorspronkelijk een traditioneel Ambonees liedje. Het wordt gezongen en gespeeld door Rudi Wairata (1929-1981) and his Amboina Serenaders. In 1955 werd het uitgebracht op een EP. Het lied verhaalt over de "Menari Lenso", de Zakdoekendans. Dit is een traditionele dans die op de Molukken bij bijzondere gebeurtenissen of plechtigheden werd uitgevoerd.

The song "Goro Goro Ne" I found on the internet and it's coming from the album "Hollands Glorie - Pasar Malam Top 100". I have more songs from that time. My Papa is an Indo and was thrilled when I sent him this (and I was equally as thrilled to find it). This song was on one of his albums that someone borrowed and never returned many years ago...I've been searching for that particular album for years..it has etanase on it as well..any ideas on the album name I'm talking about?..thanks..this is just great!
