This is my Alpha 170 using the 58mm nozzle with the nose cone pulled out 5mm so I'm estimating it to be equivalent to a 53mm nozzle. It's running in precisely 8 inches of water. My wedgepipe is open about 70%.

  • Would you say the 200 will be overkill for a 90 gallon SPS tank with a heavy bioload?

  • @jayboogy510 Yes, I think the 200 would be overkill. This 170 has INCREDIBLE skimming power!

  • I was running it on a 90 gallon tank. I moved last November and still haven't set it back up though.

  • What size tank are you running this on?

  • @jayboogy510 - I have it on a 90 gallon main display tank and there is also a 20 long frag tank connected to the system. I have since moved about 2-1/2 years ago so this system is no longer running. I completely rebuilt the system in my new home and have made significant changes. I will be making a video and posting a link very soon.
