Apparently, you read right. The song and album, unfortunately, had flopped. The album is just downright incredible and very underrated. It's one of my favorite Cher albums.

@christoddur I'm listening to it again more closely, and can hear that you could be right! Have you read that this is definitely the case? I wonder if Olivia's version is still in the archives somewhere? I'd love to hear it - I like Cher, but think Olivia's voice would suit this even better....

this is one of cher's best singles, even though it never charted. it's also one of her and my personal faves.

@leicbri It is actually both John Farrar and Olivia on backing, it's just that since Olivia gave it away, she was not allowed by her label to get credit.

It's not Olivia on backing vocals. The reason it sounds like it might be is that the backing is probably John Farrar, who did lots of ONJ's backing vocals at this time.

OMG i finally found this song, I lost the cd and finally found this song, cher once said this is one of her favorite songs. i love this song.

I almost forgot I Paralyze was written by Steve Kipner..the same guy who wrote Olivia's best selling song Physical!!

Olivia & Cher have best friends for many years...When Olivia's career was at it's peak during this time Cher's was some what low. Olivia offered Cher songs that she didn't want. Cher has always said I Paaralyze is one of her favorite songs she's recorded. Cher once performed "I Paralyze" on CBS in front of a cheering crowd. The song is among Cher's personal favorites. In Behind The Music, a TV-special from 2000, Cher said: "I loved it then, and I still love it now, and I want to re-record it."
