I'll say it over and over. People who say this house isn't haunted are wrong. A house doesn't have to be haunted by ghosts. This house is 100% haunted by a horrific past where a son shot and killed his own family. Oh yea, I would just LOVE to sleep in the same room some got murdered in! People who buy this house better just shut up and deal with the publicity because its a sick choice to live here. I'm sure there are much nicer houses in Long Island with much more peaceful pasts.

The various owners of the house since the Lutz family left in 1976 have reported no problems while living there. James Cromarty, who bought the house in 1977 and lived there with his wife Barbara for ten years, commented: "Nothing weird ever happened, except for people coming by because of the book and the movie."

$55,000 dollars for a house like that is by today's standards a good deal imagine what it was like then. Now it's on the market for like $330,000 or something don't think Butch heard voices think he and dawn got fed up with their father and how their mother never stood up to him not only for herself but her children. @Dolphindream15 yes their is a family living their now but the address was changed due to mislead tourists away from the home. the pool that was their is gone along with the eye window as well the current owners have performed major renovations to the home

@YamatoHenge he doesn't make it up on his own. the influence of drugs make him think what he said about the amity ville visions he had a reality which his mind did with the help of drugs fueled with family violence

What happened was a terrible tragedy and sensationalised as a result. Even if ghosts don't exist, buildings do have ways of absorbing events in a way that can leave certain marks within the foundations of a family home even though they may not be tangible or visible to us - I truly believe that the new owners would have injected happy and good memories and so to allow the past to rest. I weep for those children and a man who could have gotten help before he did those crimes.
