Re: 2:46, I think it's common in all halls to see people have some contact with JW's without making the 'full commitment' and fading out of sight or contact over time. Do you have an opinion - or experience (return visits, studies, etc) - with why some people dance w/the JW's for awhile and then stop? I'm sure there are many different reasons per individual, but I wanted to know what you think.

@hilldiggity In interviewing some of the people in the Wallkill, NY area that studied with the JWs, the reason they've told me they stopped studying is that they realize it is a cult. That's it. Apparently they reach a point where they see too many things that indicate the ones inside are mindlessly marching to an invisible pied piper that calls itself "slave." I remember when I reached that point. I simply suppressed the urge to run out of it.

@hilldiggity Funny you say that; I did a google search on one of those five sisters and see she was arrested for a third time for DUI. You should see the mugshot of her. There is a huge difference from the sister I remember that was trying to get in the back door of Bethel. (That means trying to get accepted at Bethel by marrying a Bethelite). If the brother had a necessary position at Bethel, theoretically, a sister could marry that brother and never have to make beds or clean toilets again.

Yep, if you can think for yourself, you will be booted...very sad in deed...and an obvious behavior that caused me to not want any part of the organization. My family is there...mom and siblings, but I am not going to lead a life I do not believe in just to have them in my life. I hope that one day religion will not be an issue for them to associate with me. My sister and mom do to a point, but my brother and his wife do not. We are not as close as we could be...shall I say...

the jw's are a twisted cult. Want proof? They are baptized in the name of The Father, The Son, and the organization...pure blasphemy. We all know that there is only 1 God...but they have to say that Jesus is "a" god, due to there twisting of John1:1..which is polytheism..they break the 1st Comm. everytime they pray in "Jesus' name" with that logic. Oh yeah, not 1 single prophecy that the watchtower has made has ever come true...that is called a false prophet. Pretty clear that they are a CULT.
