That's amazing how you found your family there. Do you have a blog or anywhere we can see more or read some more details of how you tracked down your long lost relatives? It's very interesting. I always hear my folks trace our family back to the name of our first ancestor who arrived from China, but before that is obscure.

You have a point. However, for people like me who are more curious in depth about the originality, its useful. Just to share a story as well, I met a hmong man who was born in laos & was able to track his relatives into SW China. His great-grandma's sist still resided there & he was able to meet her & her family in this decade before she passed on. Its a rare case. He is just one of the few who's family migrated later into laos, so that left a trail back to China much easier.

China doesn't matter. History is too far back. Even if you found out about your relatives it doesn't matter. It'll be like some black American went to African and look for their ancestors. Don't make much sense. We should look to Laos and Thailand cause we can relate.

@Robertamissoniluv I did, but that was only about 150 years of history. Before that, my ancestors came from China, and there are distanced relatives who still live there. I am sure that would be similar cases for other people and their ancestral roots.

Yes, it is the best journey in my life so far. I have found many distant relatives. Traveling to the past of our ancestors migration routes, all long lost relatives greeted my well. I could not have asked for more. Meeting a total stranger at the road, on top of a mountain, or at the market, they knew that I am there distance relative as soon as they learned that I am Mong.

It is like walking in your dream. The name Mong was all I got when I went through these dreams or places. The name Mong, like a flame that still going, that is the only most important thing made it possible. The best things I see in our long lost relatives when I met them are their smiles. I hope more of us can go and lift our people if not financially spiritually.
