Sun conure guarding her eggs

Huckleberry is making sure all of her eggs are undamaged - and indeed they were. All four are now two years old and beautiful Sun/Dusky conures.

To prevent eggs breaking, buy or make a nesting box. This is a box attached to the cage that they can access easily. It should have a small entry and be filled with straw. The female will lay her eggs in here and sit on them during the gestation period. Just be sure the birds can get in and out of the nesting box easily, in and out of their main cage. Go to your local pet shop or bird store. They will show you what nesting boxes look like. Good luck.

i have a sun conure and a dusky??? can they mate ??? n how do u have ur bird cage set up!!!

@arexp909 Yea, conures can mate. My sun and my dusky had four beautiful babies. They turned out mainly green with red fronts, very lovely indeed.

I don't know how they look. They were sold when they were youngsters through a bird breeder.  Wish I could see them again. Maybe I will let my sun and dusky have another clutch one of these days.

hi i have a sun canure and a jenda conure. last year the femail had at least 5 eggs last year buy they broke it . how to i prevent that. and what kind of nest do they need????
