This game made my brain explode when it came out back in the day - still one of the best video game soundtracks of all-time.

@longhairedartist I remember seeing this for the first time at Radio Shack years ago, and indeed it was the music that made the game. I was always a huge fan of video game music, and this was like a complete dream technology, being the first CD based RPG in North America.
It feels like technology has hit a plateau now - this was such a huge technological advance for the time, back when arcades were still king. Now what?
Also, Dungeon Explorer 1 for TG16 had a great soundtrack.

Such good memories of this game. First game that I purchased the system just to play the game and also first CD game I played. Excellent music! I'm happy that remakes are being put out on the PSP. Although the description for Y's I & II Chronicles has me concerned, saying that Adol was found washed up on shore. I thought he just sailed into town. Anyhow thanks for posting the video

Seeing this opening in a game shop is the reason I bought a turbo duo!

"And now, the mystery unfolds...!"
So frickin' epic.

The DS remake's intro for...actually, BOTH books isn't as good, IMO. I just now (like 20 minutes ago) got the PCE/Turbografx version on my Wii, and subsequently wish that I could pull an all nighter without waking my parents. Sadly, I'll just have to wake up at 6am like I did for saturday cartoons (which this HEAVILY reminds me of) back when KidsWB was still on-air.
XD

I LOVE THIS GAME.
i had the TG16 with CD, and gave that to my friend when i got the TurboDuo... sadly my brother sold it at a garage sale while i was away at college. :( Thanks for posting it on youtube!
This game rocked for the music mostly. Although I was never so much a fan of the "run into it" attack system... i think sampling actually degraded music on video games from the quality it was here... i loved the bassy synthesizer sound system contrasting the smooth backdrop.

I like this game because of the awesome intro and the music tracks. For myself I was of bored with the gameplay walking around exploring and talking to towns people.

I appreciate your comment. I don't have the attention span needed for RPGs. But for this game I am very captivated by the intro. It's the best ever.
