Review of my maglite 6 D-cell flashlight. Very good light, would be better if i had a more powerful LED in it, but it works for how much i use it (very seldom).

  • im thinking of modding one of these by putting two mag charger batteries in it, yes they fit. Then the only thing I have to do is find a light bulb that will handle 12v

  • that shouldnt be too hard, go to auto zone or radio shack, they should have a bulb capable of handling that. might take some modifications in the housing, but it could work.

  • iv got one of these, i keep it in my car for protection

  • it deffinately does that. its almost diabolical with the weight and power of one of these when swung.

  • alright mate, LED's are ok for battery life but for decent performance you want a Magnum Star Xenon Bulb upgrade (about £5) and it'll partially blind people!

  • haha, thanks, ill bear that in mind. i really dont use it all the time, hardly at all actually, i have other flashlights i use, but thanks for mentioning it!

  • THAT is not a flashlight, but a BASEBALL BAT and should be used as such!

  • Try a TerraLUX 3 LED Upgrade. They cost $100, but you get a 700 lumen flashlight. (For comparison, the standard krypton bulb gives you about 40 lumens.) You can find them on Amazon for $60 if you're lucky.

  • flasaholic's opinion: insted of getting an extra bulb, get a difrent light like a 4Sevens. i have a quark aa2 (207 lumens) or drop a cool $200 on a torch by wicked lasers. the torch is around 8100 lumens and can ignite paper and cook eggs.

  • @dritb4 Haha!!!...I never shine/test my lights in my yard from my balcony, just because of what the neighbors might think. I´d like to, believe me... but I don´t want the neighbors to call the police... I usually test them, in the outskirts, in the woods, where It is very dark...at this time of year.

  • It's a brilliant flashlight, have a 6 D myself. I am strongly considering getting an LED upgrade though, them incandescents eat through batteries (even duracell) and at the price of batteries (about 17 euro for 6 duracells), it will have to be done. With this monster you are wasting your time with cheap batteries! Good review.

  • I am willing to spend 6 dollars on my flash light i am going to buy, a total waste of money, but i am going to show it off to friends and what not. 45ish $ on flash light, then 15 ish on upgrades.

  • @dritb4 yeah, i do that too, but everyone has their crappy neighbors :P

  • i love my 6 cell but i HATE buying batteries 13 dollars for 8 then i have 2 left over

  • 55w halogen h3 but it would probably melt the lens!

  • the only thing i dont like about it is the batteries rattle about when you swing it.
