  • I have a lot of trouble with my rotation, I get a lot of shots that roll off the rim or bounce in and out. I need help please

  • @HardWorkPays0ff You are shooting the ball with sidespin. The most common cause of sidespin is side rotation of your shooting hand. Other causes of sidespin are the ball sliding off your ring finger rather than off the pads of index finger, moving your hand on the ball, or thumbing the ball with your non-shooting hand. Visit the BasketballWorld and CoachWissel websites and watch the video clips including Correcting Basketball Shooting Errors. Also read the articles.

  • Coach a lot of the time I follow threw and my outside wrist hurts because of it, am I following threw to hard? Is a proper follow threw of the hand suppose to be at 90 degrees , because I follow threw hard until my hand can't go much further. Thankyou

  • @HardWorkPays0ff Direct your arm, wrist, and fingers straight toward the basket at a 45- to 60-degree angle, extending your shooting arm completely at the elbow. Keep your balance hand on the ball until the point of release. Hold your arm up in a complete follow-through position until the ball reaches the basket. Keeping your follow-through up is not only good mechanics, but it also makes you look and act like a shooter and increases confidence.

  • Wow, I can't believe what a difference it makes. I just practiced at home in terms of the feel and the mental reminders. It made a HUGE difference today at basketball tryouts!

    Cheers!

  • I'm starting the "lead-up" month schedule tomorrow! I can't wait!
