In journalism class one day at Ringgold high school, we tested out the age-old "can ringing cell phones make popcorn"?

Here's a shocker, guys: They can't.

  • I would think you need to answer the phones so they are transmitting steadily. Also be aware that modern phones turn down their transmit power to the lowest needed to achieve error-free communication, so you need all phones to be receiving a poor signal from whatever network they are on. Wrong class - do it in science! In general you can't prove a negative, all you proved is that your particular settup didn't work.

  • it has to have volume it wont work on vibrate
