Riding my Peruvian Paso

My Peruvian Paso mare went to her first fun show at the Fairgrounds but we got there late due to loading difficulties, so we just practiced outside the arena. Some folks commented that they had never seen a Peruvian Paso before and were very interested in seeing her "smooth fancy gait". Apologies to my Peruvian Paso enthusiasts for not having her official Peruvian Tack on for public viewing, but we also encountered tack difficulties since I am a novice, so please forgive me for using my old english dressage saddle in a pinch!

Thank-you! She came from The Perry's in Hertford, North Carolina. They have other Peruvians and some are from my mare's mother, who is out of the northern Peruvian bloodlines.

Thanks. I do not use a bit with her. She is well trained and does not need one. She is wearing a leather Paso headset only.

It is wonderful to see a horse & rider who are well matched...You are the right size for this little mare. Too many way too heavy (fat) people think these PP's can carry them. The rider & saddle weight should never exceed 25% of the horses total weight. We have several PP's who are permanently sored up or forever lame because of heavy riders.
